These gluten, refined sugar and dairy free chocolate brownies are one of my most popular recipes. They’re a super easy one bowl wonder, choc-full of good fats & protein, and so delicious! The hero ingredient is black sesame (seeds & tahini) which is especially good for new mums (milk supply and depletion) and anti-ageing (everyone!). It’s revered for its age defying effects.

INGREDIENTS:

40g cacao powder
60g almond meal or gluten free flour
1 tsp baking powder
80ml honey or maple syrup
60g nut butter
60g black tahini
1 egg (or if vegan, 1Tbs chia seeds soaked in 3Tbs water for 15min)
vanilla extract
90ml any milk
Pinch of sea salt
2 Tbs black sesame seeds
1-2 Tbs hemp seeds
100g good quality dark choc chips or chopped dark chocolate

For the drizzle:
2 heaped Tbs black tahini
1 Tbs maple syrup or to taste (optional)

METHOD:

Preheat the oven to 180 deg & line a rectangular loaf tin with baking paper.

Pop all the ingredients into a bowl & mix until smooth & well combined. Taste the batter, it’s yummy.

Spoon the batter into your prepared tin and smooth it out at the top.

Bake for 25 min. Remove from oven & allow to cool in tin before slicing.

To make it look & taste even better, mix a little extra black tahini & maple, & drizzle over the top!

Notes:

To make them more fudgy you can stir some melted dark chocolate through the batter too. Just melt in a bowl over simmering water.
