These pimped up Bloody Mary’s are not only gorgeous but they’re packed with immune-boosting ingredients too: Vodka (antiseptic), lemon and tomato juice (vitamin C) and kombucha (probiotic). I encourage you to get creative with the garnishes: herbs, edible flowers, pickled veggies on skewers…whatever you can find!

INGREDIENTS:

45ml vodka
45ml kombucha
10ml lemon juice
Spiced tomato juice to top up

Garnish:
Celery stalks, Nasturtium leaves and flowers, pickled veggies like onion and brussel sprouts on skewers. Whatever you have!

Spiced tomato juice:
1kg ripe tomatoes, halved
1 Tbs olive oil
1 garlic clove
Salt & pepper
Worcestershire & Tabasco to taste

METHOD:

For the spiced tomato juice, preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Lay the tomatoes & garlic in a baking tray, cut side up, season with salt & pepper, drizzle with olive oil and roast for 20 minutes then set aside to cool. Remove skins and blend the tomatoes and strain through a sieve. Season with Worcestershire and Tabasco to taste.

To make the cocktail, add the vodka, kombucha and lemon to a tall glass or jar with ice. Top with spiced tomato juice. Stir then pimp it up with parsley, celery & whatever you have. Enjoy!

Notes:

If you can’t make the spiced tomato juice, you can easily sub it for store bought tomato juice.
